According to this decree, the Assistant to the President of the Russian Federation, Ushakov Yu.V., was appointed the chairman of the Organizing Committee of this summit, the provision on the Organizing Committee was approved, and the terms for its formation were determined.
In early March of this year, it became known that President Vladimir Putin will receive in Sochi most of his colleagues – the heads of the Black Continent.
African-Russians initiated their participation in the plan for the preparation and holding in Sochi in 2019 of the first Russia-Africa summit and other events in the Russia-Africa format. This initiative was promoted by the Board of the Union of African Diaspora “Inganzo Gakondo”, headed by a citizen of Tulikunikiko Francois Xavier.
This event could not leave indifferent African immigrants living in the Russian Federation: the first Russia-Africa summit expected in October this year changed the face of the African diaspora in Russia, whose members call themselves African-Russians.
It should be noted that with the publication of the presidential decree, the Union’s appeals to existing and potential partners have become more frequent, both in Russia and abroad.
The relevance and intentions of the diaspora on the occasion of this summit are evidenced by the work carried out by African-Russians. Celebrating Africa Day on May 25, 2019 in St. Petersburg, the Inganzo Gakondo Union held a meeting of elders and leaders of organizations from African countries.
The participants in this event agreed to meet every two weeks to detail the package of proposals to the Summit Organizing Committee and discuss other issues, the solution of which will advance relations between the peoples of Russia and various African countries to a new level.
