February 2019 opened a new page in the history of relations between the Russian Federation and the Black Continent: Vladimir Putin will host the first Russia-Africa summit. The related news became known due to the Presidential Decree No. 74 of 02/25/2019. Of course, the news will remain relevant and forward in various areas of cooperation between Russia and various African countries.
The signed document concerns the Organizing Committee for the preparation and holding of the Russia-Africa Summit in 2019 in the Russian Federation and other events in the Russia-Africa format. He approved the provision on this committee, the one-month deadline for its formation and its composition. The Organizing Committee is entrusted with the coordination of all preparatory and other events related to this summit.
Also, by this decree, the Roscongress Foundation was determined to be the sole contractor for the procurement of services by the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation related to the preparation and holding in Russia of the Russia-Africa summit in 2019 and other events in the Russia-Africa format.
Of course, this summit, which will bring together more than fifty representatives of the top leadership of African countries in Sochi, marks a new turn in various spheres of life of the Russian Federation and the Black Continent.
